History of IOJD
The International Order of Job's Daughters was founded in 1920 in Omaha, Nebraska, by Mrs. Ethel T. Wead Mick. Job's Daughters is a premier organization for young women from ages 11 to 20, who are "related" to a Master Mason. Members learn important skills that benefit them now, as well as in the future, such as leadership, organization, teamwork and self reliance. The lessons of Job's Daughters are taught around the principle framework of respect for parents and home, loyalty to flag and country, and reverence for God. The Order takes it's name from the Book of Job, with particular reference to the 42nd chapter, 15th verse, which states: "And in all the land were no women found so fair as the Daughters of Job."
